& rainbow sweets for the boys.
layers of green clothing.
 beautiful ireland thoughts.
a handsome man in a green beanie.

i can call you betty, and betty, when you call me, you can call me al.

one of my best girlfriends, diane {a.k.a. nans, nana, nanny, nina, trina, or big ang}, came to visit from nyc the other weekend.  she brought with her, her guy, adam, and together we had a fun-filled weekend full of laughter and some other shenanigans...

friday was a day of cookie making, over-packing, a missed flight and sad faces.

saturday, we were greeted with an afternoon arrival, a night downtown, a meet up with local friends at the bayou, pool, a bowl of artichoke dip on the lap, two more stops, & laughter galore.

on sunday, there was a first time, breathtaking drive up the canyon for adam & nana, a day on the slopes of brighton, a hungry crew at porcupine grill, "the lorax" with the boys, driters & big ang, & a very sleepy nans.

monday,  the lovebirds woke early for a photo shoot. they then spent the day skiing @ the canyons. after, we had a "former life reunion" between two of my best, birthday gifts for boys, cafe rio for dinner, a trip to the sweet tooth fairy,  picture taking, loads of laughing, a little crying, goodbye hugs & a midnight flight to jfk.

{chan, nan & i}

{we sure did miss that marcus... especially these guys, but especially me.;)}
{i'm pretty sure we didn't go more than ten minutes without laughing. we just reverted right back to our old high school ways.}

{nans spending a morning in my shoes.}
{that poor adam is always having to care for somebody else's dog.;)}

{it was fitting that the sweet tooth fairy had unicorn cupcakes for nan's visit. fairytales}

i only loved every minute of being with you, nana.

it's friday, i'm in love.

besides being lovey to the new coconut hershey kisses, and the fact that my boys have a day off school today and slept in till 9:30 a.m., i am also pretty in love with this brand new, little angel niece that i just got today...

aubrey elizabeth

congrats dan, tay & addy!
love her & her chubby cheeks so already.

and quite taken by these songs from a few of the albums i have been into as of late...

rachael yamagata- "the way it seems to go" & "even if i don't" & "starlight". i pretty much rotate between this album & lana at the moment...still.

apple of my eye.

i've been a lag at blogging these days. a lot has been going on around these parts-- we went to fL, had family come visit, and then some friends come and stay. also, on the 27th of february, we celebrated my eldest baby's 9th birthday. we kept things pretty low key this time around {unlike years past}.  max chose to go sledding at the usual place for his special day. we then came home and sang a birthday tune to our boy around some candle lite peanut butter bars, and opened a present for each year of his darling  life. we sure do love that little guy of ours!

{precious card from his classmates.}

my baby, max-  i can't believe we have celebrated nine years of your life already.  i remember the start of it like it was yesterday-- your dad driving 10 miles an hour home in the snow from the hospital, crying while i sang the golden girls theme song to you {it was your favorite, despite my efforts for other, more appropriate songs.}, rocking you in that green rocking chair for {literally} the entire day, just staring at your perfect, soft features.  even nine years into it, i still feel like i can't get enough of you and your velvety green eyes.  you have the most tender, precious heart. you are a friend to everyone and everyone is your friend-mate. {although, you know not a soul's name..."my friend with the red shirt." "my friend with the voice."=)}  you easily win the heart of anyone you meet.  your teachers and classmates adore you, and i still get told {just weeks ago, as a matter of fact} that kids you went to school with years ago still ask about you. it's that giant spirit you have that exudes kindness & innocence.  you are everything that is good in this world, max.  i love that you care nothing about what other people think. you are exactly who you want to be for you, and for no one else. not many can truly say that.  i love being your mom, and i love you in the strongest way possible.  love- your mama
