i sure do like you. today, i celebrated you in the mountains surrounded by your untouched beauty with my three favorite people and a backpack full of reusable water bottles. the loveliest day was had watching you come back to life with the sunshine on our faces. you are like a song for my eyes.
since we have been living it up in the spring sunshine {and rain showers} the last few weeks, i suppose it's past time to post this winter fun blog of mine. we adored the snowfall this year, and we spent a great deal of time up in those beloved mountains we have--sledding, snowshoeing, snowboarding. we even took mad up for his first ski lesson from dad. our time spent keeping warm this winter was none too shabby either. we snuggled up together, made snow globes, ate snowy cupcakes, and watched our snowman melt from the window. check it out...

a tune that got me through the cold this winter...
i swear she writes for me. she must live somewhere deep in my soul, never failing to put into song exactly what i feel in my heart. that is why i love her so.
we lit it up for all those affected by it, for the ones we love, and for the ones that have our hearts. we lit it up for wild man and all his "helps". we lit it up for little miss kate, who communicates with the sweetest smile you've ever seen. we lit it up for precious peter, who only wants more cake, "max's mom". for the twins, who give us hope either way. we lit it up for my earth angel, sarah, who has put her heart and soul into helping children who need her, and who does one hell of a job! we lit it up for all those "crazy" doctors who make a difference. for all those parents who give their whole hearts and every last cent on chances to help the ones they love more than themselves. we lit it up for the moms that spend hours researching, writing congressman, volunteering. those moms that spend their time trying to make themselves better for someone else, not better than someone else. but, mostly, we lit it up for our max. the boy that reminds us everyday to laugh and remember what's important. the one that keeps us from lingering too long in the superficiality of this world. the boy we'd give anything to help, but who is perfect just the way he is. the boy we love more than words can say.
