gypsying

a couple of weeks ago, i surprised mark with a little "road trip get away" (sans children) to celebrate some really great things that have been happening in our lives the past couple of months (all thanks to markus).  we had such a grand time being all footloose and fancy free (even for just a few days) -- swimming, hiking, staying up way too late, watching scary movies, eating at 2 o'clock in the morning, chit chattin' under the stars, sleeping wherever our heads happen to land, listening to music as loud as possible, acting as if we were some young 20 year olds again and doing just whatever our little hearts desired.  {thanks mama for watching the boys and mom & dad for letting us crash at your house for a couple of nights.}

[the map i made with a few ideas of places we could go....don't bother trying the grand canyon in april, the north rim is closed....and you should look that up before you drive....or not.]
[long drives -- one of my very favorite things]
[road trips must be accompanied by classic rock....it's an unwritten rule.;)]

[suggestions for driving through the desert: 1. make one of these for yourself 2.wear it the entire time 3. give yourself a native american name and insist that everyone in the car refer to you as such.]

“those who dwell among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of life.”
- rachel carson

a promising light & giant lips on my forehead...<3

[we ate at this great mexican restaurant in vegas called mundo.  they had really delicious chips and were very generous with the cotija cheese which is always great in my book.=)]
[he really is, just a real precious slut.;)]
"the day will come, the sun will rise, and we'll be fine." -the avett brothers, "please pardon yourself"

[mark's easter basket, which was only slightly selfish on my part (reese's & magazine). slightly. plus, we're real into scrabble. scrabble, words with friends....i like letters.=)]
[i had an electronics curse on this trip. first, my laptop got a virus and  had to go spend a couple days at the doctor in st. george. then i dropped my phone in the hot tub and it had to spend a couple days drying itself off in a bag of rice.]
[mark rescued my phone from the hot tub,  he's real fast (i couldn't process), but last time we were there i rescued our niece from the pool so, i think i'm more of the hero here.;)]

"and if you're my guide, i'm your guide."
-eisley

[i love this landscape, the rust colored rocks against the bright blue sky....takes my breath away.]

{and i love the honey trees version of "moonriver"..."there's such a lot of world..."}

*songs: "rescue me"-mr. little jeans...i was real into this song on this trip.

you get more and more beautiful by the blog, and markus does too, I want one of my own...one that'll frollic with me in the desert and kiss my face a lot, and while I'm at it I want a little native american headband, name, and dreamcatcher (soon please)...say it louder rachel!

ok trina, you're right I do have one of my own, so instead of my own markus, I want a little flat tummy so I can stop photoshopping mine (ok, I don't photoshop...but I could, don't put it past me!)!!

and you're welcome for inspiring your love of roadtrips (frederick ave. to baypoint dr. was a long ways back in our polk county days) and for your love in mexican food (I refuse to accept that it's probably cause Sharon makes better mexican food than any real mexican and more cause your beautiful best friend's last name is ramirez (let's enjoy that before it turns into goldberg or rabinowitz or something of that nature))...you're welcome (:

these pictures have me hoping for a $150 miracle even more...imagine trina and nans frollicking through the grand canyon, your headband and my feathered earrings (sigh)

what could possibly go wrong with you, me and feathers??;) the both of us being procrastinators does not work well for airline tickets.=( one of us should probably work on that, probably you since i've already been working on thinking more logically...one of has to.

and i don't put it past you to go and make yourself look all silly and unrecognizable with the photo editor.

nan goldberg, it's got a nice ring to it. if only you had a cool middle name to go in there like starr or reese's cup (avery and i are so lucky.;)). and i do thank you for living 30 minutes away and polk county for being so spread out and the beach for being over an hour away.

perhaps you should just come pick me up, like the good 'ol days, and I won't have to hope for miracles!...perhaps.

did I mention how I love 'gypsying'...I want to be a gypsy

I'm going to legally change my name to antoine molly dodson...and let's just see you and avery top that!

take my song off your #1...be original!! it's bad enough 'the boy' made my favorite song from 3 months ago his playback tune while you wait for him to pickup the phone...the nerve of you people...get your own music, and style for that matter!

now excuse me while I shrink my lips and nose and smudge my crows feet a little...don't judge!...there's no such thing as real anymore!

oh how I love having fun with you starr! you just made my friday!
