hiding in the shadows

as i was falling asleep last night, i was overcome by the smell of pepperonis. yes. not that i mind that smell, it is actually a smell i quite enjoy (mmm, crispy, burnt pepperonis), but not so much when i am trying to doze off. the smell lingered all through out the night. after changing clothes, re-washing hands, and checking all the garbage cans within a close proximity, i finally gave up and  figured it wouldn't hurt to be visited by a talking slice of pizza in my dreams.  when i awoke, the smell was even stronger and then, lo and behold, what do i find under my bed....
this.
after some critical thinking, i have concluded it to be madden's dinner from the night before: a. because mad and i were the only ones who ate this. b. because i would never leave 4 leaves of arugula to go to waste. and c. because i'm pretty sure my plate made it, at least, to the sink. it was also accompanied by a pile of empty juice boxes. it seems as though my lazy, little dears would rather go to the trouble of hiding their garbage than taking the long walk of 4 feet to throw it in the trash can. this is what i get for letting them eat upstairs. mmm hmm, this is what i get...old, dead, smelly pizza.
